Covered positions for several riflemen
There are a few covered firing positions in the base XXVIII, which have planed to several riflemen. Smallest positions are for four men and biggest for eight men.
Position itself is like a trench where is embrasures in the front wall. Sides of the embrasures are concrete but the roof and inner walls have been made using wooden balks. Outer walls were concrete. Nowadays the wooden parts are disappeared, but imprints can still seen in the concrete. In the land front typology this kid of position called E-type.
All E-type position locate in objects XXVIII:18, 19 and 23.
On the front side trench wall have been made embrasures in the Myllykallio object XXXVI:2. It is the only place in the land front where this kind of trench is left anymore. There is two parts of trench in Myllykallio. One is for nine riflemen and other is for eight men. Last trench make a curve so the ninth rifle men shooting 90 degrees side from the frontline. This kind of trench construction has been called also F-type rifle position.
